The Department of Computer Science, in cooperation with ISTeC (Information Science and Technology Center), offers the free CS Colloquium to anyone interested in computer science. Established by department chair Barney Marschner over 40 years ago, the colloquium hosts weekly academic talks by computer science and engineering professionals from organizations around the world.

The Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) is the world’s largest educational and scientific computing society. The CSU student chapter facilitates students’ learning about computing as a science and a profession. The club offers instructional labs, hosts industry guest speakers, provides career networking opportunities, prepares students for hackathons, runs coding competitions, and works to build and sustain community.

Hashdump Security Club works to increase awareness of physical, social, and electronic security. The club participates in security competitions, hosts demos and workshops, and invites speakers to come and share some of their real world experiences. All majors are welcome to join and participate.

The Women in Cybersecurity (WiCyS) student chapter at CSU fosters sharing industry knowledge, networking, mentoring, and recruitment with an emphasis on gender equality in the field of cybersecurity. Club Computer Vision at CSU (CCVC) bridges the gap between academia and the practical application in computer vision. This club hosts hosts competitions every semester, and provides both CSU students and external participants opportunities to engage, learn, and excel in computer vision technologies.

The Game Developer’s Club is a collaborative CSU community of all students interested in game design and learning game development techniques. There are tutorial and demo meetings for electronic art, 3D modeling, and coding. The club helps bridge the divide between amateur and professional game creation and gives students information about career options after graduation.
